Open Call for Artists to Collaborate with Residency at Halleck House

February 1, 2020 - October 31, 2020

20+ local artists will be given a forum for exploring and presenting creative work, and the opportunity to network and collaborate with other creators. Stipends for each participating creative provide a small funding boost for the individual and affirm the social and cultural value of the work they are doing. A new and innovative format for creating and sharing gets tested, one that emphasizes experience, exploration and growth over a competitive/market-based rubric for success.  Visitors will be drawn into our Banglatown neighborhood as both creators and witnesses to the project, while neighbors are included and invited via thoughtful opportunities for engagement and interaction.

About Halleck House

Halleck House is curated and administered by myself and Rachele Eve. We are practicing artists who bring complementary skill-sets and substantial creative and professional experience to this endeavor. Rachele handles graphic design, marketing and social media, and her skills as an educator, community organizer and intentional communicator will surely prove invaluable when working with the resident artists groups. I have over 10 years of experience working in non-profit and commercial arts administration across curatorial, development, bookkeeping/finance and events management roles. The past 5 years of my creative practice have been dedicated to exploring the model of multi-media collaborative events (“experiential installation”) that forms the basis for the Halleck House program.
